Finding a unique and memorable pose for a wedding photograph can be a challenge. You want to capture those spontaneous moments that make the big day all yours, but it is possible to go too far, as one couple in North Yorkshire recently demonstrated, when snaps were posted online of them posing on a railway track!
The Daily Record reports that the foolhardy couple smooched in the middle of train tracks to capture that special moment. It was only by good fortune that their marriage wasn’t seriously derailed, and police and rail chiefs have spoken out to warn others not to copy their actions under any circumstances.
Superintendent Alison Evans of British Transport Police (BTP) said: “The railway is not an appropriate or safe setting for a photographic backdrop, no matter how scenic the setting. Every time someone strays onto the rail network they are not only putting themselves at risk of serious, life-threatening injury but also delaying essential journeys.”
Allan Spence, of Network Rail, added, “Wedding photos or selfies on the track are just plain stupidity. We often warn families at this time of year as kids enjoy school half-term holidays but now we are also appealing to adults.”
One fool proof way to make sure that you stay firmly on the safe side when posing for your wedding snaps is to hire a sane photographer, obviously. Another brilliant idea is to hire a photobooth, which can be safely installed at your wedding venue for those spontaneous fun moments to be captured forever.
The modern range of photobooths can produce multiple prints of high-quality snaps in an instant, and features an array of interactive features, such as animated backgrounds. They are even large enough to hold 18 people at a time, not to mention all the props that you could dream of!
